Right To Sight, RDS Thurs 21st May

20 May 2009 Posted by: Editor
Right to Sight is an Irish charity which was established by Irish eye surgeon, Kate Coleman, in 2006 to eliminate needless blindness in Africa and Asia. Right to Sight has 20 projects in eight African countries and in India and works alongside Governments and existing charities in order to achieve their goal of eliminating needless blindness. Right to Sight focuses on the training and development of local people to work in these hospitals thereby providing quality eye care with increased productivity leading to sustainability

No patient is ever denied treatment whether you can pay or not you are given the treatment you need. In 2008 Right to Sight projects helped to deliver 27,000 cataract surgeries and we expect to deliver 40,000 surgeries in 2009. To date most of our donations have come via coporate donations but for 2009 we need to raise more money on the ground .

Our initial stab at this is a Record Breaking Pilates attempt led by Eva Berg, celebtity pilates instructor which will be held in the RDS on Thursday, 21st May 2009.

Where: The Serpentine Hall, RDS, Dublin 4
When: Thurs 21st May, 2009
Min Sponsorship: E25.00
Registration: From 5.00pm
Class Begins: 7.30pm
Instructor: Eva Berg

We are looking to all groups involved in Pilates and all other areas of fitness and those who have never before done Pilates before (it will be a very easy class to do )to support us in what will be a really fun night with lots of entertainment and the challenge of beating a record but most importantly we will be helping to alleviate the pain and suffering caused by needless blindness.

Entertainers like Mary Black have agreed to open the event and sing a few numbers free of charge, new blues band History of Harry and others will also entertain

People can very easily register on line and pay on line, or pay on the night . To Take Part Please Log Onto http://www.righttosight.com
